DMW WORLDWIDE LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE MULTI-CHANNEL MARKETING CAMPAIGN FOR USI AFFINITY

Agency creates print ads, microsites, and video e-mail to sell Lawyers’ Professional Liability insurance to bar association members.
Wayne, Pa. — October 11, 2007 — DMW Worldwide LLC has created an integrated marketing campaign to help USI Affinity market Lawyers’ Professional Liability insurance (LPL) to members of three Pennsylvania bar associations. The multi-channel Fall campaign consists of print ads, Internet microsites, and innovative video e-mail.
Lawyers' Professional Liability insurance helps protect law firms from costly malpractice lawsuits, and firms that do not carry LPL leave themselves open to a host of lawsuit possibilities. Having this coverage is not mandatory in Pennsylvania, but firms that do not carry the insurance must disclose the fact to clients and prospective clients, putting them at a disadvantage over covered firms. In recent years, competition among carriers has increased and LPL insurance has turned into a commodity product with price being the main driver.
USI Affinity holds a unique position in the LPL marketplace thanks to its affinity with bar associations across the country and its ability to market products through association channels. To leverage this position, DMW developed an innovative, multi-pronged campaign designed to promote the value of its LPL product. Each component delivers a consistent message that leverages the bar association endorsement and promotes product features and competitive pricing.
As part of its campaign, DMW created a series of Internet microsites to target members of three bar associations: the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. These sites offer product information, FAQs, and the opportunity to begin a quote.
Secondly, DMW developed print ads highlighting each bar’s recommendation for the product, and identifying two key features that no other plan offers: continuous coverage and no Hammer Clause. The ads are appearing in the September/October issue of Pennsylvania Lawyer — a publication of the Pennsylvania Bar Association — and in the October issue of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Philadelphia Bar Reporter.
As the final component of the campaign, DMW’s video e-mail consists of an application known as Vismail™. This technology embeds interactive graphics into e-mail resulting in an extremely powerful direct response message. These messages were e-mailed to members of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association.
“Vismail incorporates small video files that are part of the e-mail message,” explained Warren Hunter, DMW’s President and CEO. Because the technology does not require special software or a wide bandwidth, it is accessible by virtually all computer users with an e-mail address, including those who use a dial-up connection.
“Usage rates have proven immensely higher than traditional text e-mail messages,” Hunter added. The agency has experienced video e-mail open rates as high as 40 to 60 percent.
DMW’s incorporation of this technology into this marketing campaign is a first in the insurance industry.
