Delaware County Community College celebrates its 40th anniversary
by honoring five alumni who have achieved lifetime professional success.
Wayne, Pa. — November 9, 2007 — DMW Worldwide LLC announced that Warren Hunter has been named to the Delaware County Community College (DCCC) Star Alumni list. A 1969 Liberal Arts graduate and member of the college’s first graduating class, Hunter is President and CEO of DMW, a full-service direct response advertising agency headquartered in Wayne, Pa.
Hunter is one of five Star Alumni added to the original group chosen in 2002 to mark the college’s 35th anniversary. In celebrating its 40th year, the college tapped alumni who have achieved lifetime professional success and who credit DCCC as a defining influence in their lives.
Following graduation from DCCC, Hunter went on to earn a B.S. in advertising from the Penn State University School of Journalism. He then worked for Scriptomatic in Philadelphia in the Advertising Department. After that he was an Account Supervisor for Selas Corporation in Dresher, Pa. During his career Hunter has held senior-level marketing and management positions for National Liberty Corporation, World Book Encyclopedia, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.
In 1988, Hunter purchased equity interest in direct response advertising agency The McClure Group, and led seven years of double-digit growth. When the agency was sold in 1995, he remained on board as Chief Marketing Officer of a merger of three agencies that became DMW Worldwide. In 2002, Hunter led a group of managers in the purchase of the agency and it became DMW Worldwide LLC. Today the agency employs 95 people with offices in Wayne, Pa.; Norristown, Pa.; Plymouth, Mass.; and St. Louis, Mo. DMW specializes in insurance, financial services, and fundraising marketing.
“It is an honor to be acknowledged by DCCC as part of its 40th anniversary celebration,” said Hunter. “I credit my success to the well-rounded foundation I received during the early years at DCCC. I am proud of the college’s history — from its early years where just 300-plus students attended class in a few rented classrooms in Ridley High School to its forward-thinking plans to break ground at the Main Campus for a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Complex in spring 2008. What is inspirational is how the school has been able to continually reinvent itself to meet the changing needs of its students.”
