Wayne, PA – May 9, 2005 – Warren Hunter, president of DMW, a full-service direct response advertising agency, announced the agency has received an Addy® Award in the self-promotion category. The ADDY Awards are sponsored locally by the Philadelphia Advertising Club.
DMW’s second place (Bronze Award) was received for its book, The Story of Goldie Lockes and What a Bear It Is to Hire an Agency – a contemporary feel-good tale designed to counsel marketers in search of an agency that’s “just right” for them. The colorful and creatively illustrated book, supported by a Website (www.dmwjustright.com), made its debut at the Direct Marketing Association’s 87th Annual Conference & Exhibition and was enthusiastically received.
“We developed this book as a new and exciting way to help make marketers aware of the unique structure of our agency,” explained Hunter. “The tale helps explain our ‘just right’ concept in a fun, creative way. We’re pleased that it has been recognized by such a prestigious award as the ADDY.”
According to a wrap-up article on the Philadelphia Advertising Club’s Website, the local 2005 ADDY winners should be extremely proud: “Competing in a field of 900 entrants from 94 agencies, design/photography studios, and film/broadcast production houses, the winners represented the best in creative excellence and high standards. In many cases, the choice came down to a battle of inches.”
The ADDY Awards competition is the industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the awards honor excellence in advertising and cultivate the highest standards in the industry. The three-tiered competition begins at the local level with the Philadelphia Ad Club and the 210 AAF member clubs nationwide. Local Gold winners are automatically forwarded to 14 regional competitions. District Gold winners are then forwarded to the National competition.
